Rome  - A spot kick from Kaka late Saturday levelled a goal from former AC Milan forward Davide Di Gennaro as the Devils were held to a 1-1 home draw against Serie A tail-enders Reggina.

The result was good news for leaders Inter Milan, who earlier Saturday had Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Portugal veteran Luis Figo and Serbian midfielder Dejan Stankovic on target in a 3-0 crushing of Lecce.

Madrid - Real Madrid battled out their seventh straight win on Saturday, 1-0 at home to willing but harmless Racing Santander.

It was the fourth 1-0 home win since Juande Ramos took over two months ago, and imposed an unattractive but effective counter- attacking style.

The only three players to warm up the Estadio Bernabeu on a chilly night were Gonzalo Higuain, who scored the only goal; Arjen Robben with his handsome wingplay; and keeper Iker Casillas, who had to work hard towards the end.

Lecce's defence lent the towering Ibra a hand on 12 minutes by botching their offside trap and allowing him to score his 14th goal of the season, firing home a deadly right-footer off a feed from Esteban Cambiasso.

Figo, 36, secured the win in the second half, heading home a cross from Davide Santon, a young defender who is just half his age, while Stankovic made it 3-0, also with a header.

Hamburg  - Bundesliga leaders Hoffenheim left it late to snatch a 1-1 draw at bottom club Borussia Moenchengladbach while Hamburg were stunned by a stoppage-time goal as they went down 3-2 at lowly Karlsruhe on Saturday.

With Hertha Berlin also failing to get a win on Friday, the results could benefit champions Bayern Munich who will go second if they beat Borussia Dortmund at home on Sunday.

London - Chelsea's title hopes took a potentially decisive blow on Saturday when they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Hull City in the English Premier League.

Aston Villa leapfrogged them into third place after they won 2-0 at Blackburn Rovers, their seventh consecutive away win.

West Bromwich Albion remain bottom after they were edged out 3-2 at home by Newcastle United, while there were also wins for Everton, Manchester City and Sunderland.
