London, Feb 14: Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney got his ultimate revenge on Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher by sending him a signed photo of himself scoring.

The United ace was desperate to get his own back after the Oasis rocker sprayed Rooney's birthday guitar sky blue.

So Rooney, 23, fired back by putting one past Noel's beloved City in a derby. And he rubbed salt in the wound by sending a signed snap of his goal celebration.

Hamburg  - TSG Hoffenheim had to swallow their first home defeat of the season, 4-1 against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday night, and are now in danger of losing the Bundesliga lead and their magic.

Patrick Helmes scored twice, high under the bar in the third and on the stroke of halftime for a season tally of 15. Simon Rolfes (12th) and Gonzalo Castro (48th) got the other goals for Leverkusen, who also beat Hoffenheim (5-2) in the teams' first season meeting.

London - Nigel Clough will be hoping to take another step nearer to achieving something his legendary father never managed this weekend when his Derby County side take on Manchester United for a place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

The names of Clough and Ferguson clashed many times a generation ago, when Brian led Nottingham Forest against the mighty Manchester United, steered by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Nigel Clough is now in charge at Derby County, and after seeing off Forest in the previous round, he is hoping to cause what would be a huge upset and move closer to FA Cup glory.

Madrid - Runaway Spanish leaders Barcelona face a tough test on Saturday, away to resurgent Betis.

Barca will be looking for their 11th straight win in Seville, and will be hoping to get closer to Real Madrid's record of 107 goals in 1989/90 season.

Samuel Eto'o, Lionel Messi and company have so far scored 68 goals in 22 Liga games, and so have 16 games left in which to overtake Real's record.

"It will not be an easy game since Betis have improved their play and results recently," Barca coach Josep Guardiola said.

London, Feb. 12 : The falling value of the British pound has helped Spanish football club Real Madrid to pip England's Manchester United to the top of the money league.

Figures released yesterday revealed Real Madrid raking 289.6 million pounds during the 2007/8 season, while Manchester United came close with earnings of 257.1 million pounds.

This statistic, however, does not take anything away from Manchester United's dominance of English football, both on and off the pitch. Wednesday's financial survey shows that the club has enjoyed a 45 million pound leap in year-on-year income, thanks largely to last season's Premier League and Champions League double.

United's turnover grew by 21 per cent in the 2007-08 season.

Hamburg  - France and Germany each lost Wednesday night at home in friendly internationals, while England fielded a record- equalling David Beckham but still slumped to a 2-0 defeat in Spain.

Germany were humbled 1-0 by Norway in Dusseldorf, while the Les Bleus were beaten 2-0 by Argentina in Marseille.

In Dusseldorf, Christian Grindheim scored from close range in the 63rd minute to get a new spell in charge by coach Egil Olsen off to a winning start.
