Hamburg - Andrey Voronin was the two-goal hero as Hertha Berlin stunned champions Bayern Munich 2-1 on Saturday to claim the Bundesliga lead.

The Ukraine forward Voronin headed home in in the 38th minute and struck again in the 77th in the Olympic stadium to lift Hertha past TSG Hoffenheim into first place they last occupied in October 2006. Miroslav Klose got the temporary equalizer for Munich in the 62nd.

Los Angeles - David Beckham will return to the Los Angeles Galaxy next month after efforts to turn a loan at AC Milan into a transfer to the Italian giants fell through.

Galaxy general manager and coach Bruce Arena said on Friday that Milan had not submitted an improved offer for the England midfielder Beckham by a deadline on the day.

"Today's deadline imposed by Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber regarding a resolution of David Beckham's potential transfer to AC Milan has passed and we did not receive an acceptable offer for the player," said Arena.

London, Feb 14 : LA Galaxy has asked English midfielder David Beckham to return to the MLS after Ac Milan failed to make a second offer for the player.

The England star wanted to make his loan deal to AC Milan permanent, but Galaxy insisted that the midfielder is heading home after Milan failed to make a second offer by end of Friday's deadline.
