AC Milan to vie with big guns for Eto'o

AC MilanRome - AC Milan are set to be among the big clubs keen on signing Samuel Eto'o, the Cameroon star striker who appears set on leaving Barcelona at the end of the season.

La Gazzetta dello Sport wrote Wednesday that the footballer's agent, Josep Maria Mesalles, last week met Milan officials to resume contacts that had taken place already a year ago.

Eto'o has bickered frequently with coach Pep Guardiola, leaving little room for him to renew a contract that expires in 2010 and likely setting the stage for a departure in the summer.

Abel Resino's stint of 1,275 goalless minutes for Atletico Madrid was widely accepted as the best ever, a mark van der Sar will pass if he keep Fulham at for 64 minutes on Wednesday night.

Numancia sack coach Kresic and promote PachetaMadrid  - Struggling Spanish Liga club Numancia announced on Tuesday afternoon the sacking of veteran coach Sergio Kresic.

The final nail in the coffin of Kresic was Sunday's 1-0 defeat at home to fellow strugglers Mallorca. This was Numancia's fifth straight defeat and leaves them second from bottom.

Kresic took over the Numancia bench in July after Gonzalo Arconada, who had guided the Soria club to promotion, had left for Almeria.

Kresic has been replaced by the club's sporting director Jose Rojo, known as Pacheta.
