New Delhi, Feb 12 : The special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court will pronounce its first judgement in the Nithari killings case here today.

The Rimpa Haldar murder case will be the first in which Special Judge Rema Jain will pronounce the verdict.

Haldar, a married woman, was called by Kohli to work as housemaid at Pandher''s Bunglow. She had gone missing before the disclosure of the Nithari killings.

Hong Kong  - A passenger arriving at Hong Kong International Airport from Thailand was arrested with 46 rare animals including tortoises and hedgehogs in his luggage, officials said Wednesday.

The Hong Kong resident was caught with two highly endangered Angonoka tortoises, 21 hedgehogs and 23 sugar gliders - small marsupials from Australia which are popular as pets.

Hong Kong  - A 17-year-old Hong Kong youth was being treated in hospital Wednesday after losing most of his left hand when a home-made bomb went off in his high-rise apartment.

Hundreds of people were evacuated when the block of flats in Hong Kong's Yuen Long district was rocked by a powerful explosion that went off at around 10.30 pm (1430 GMT) on Tuesday, a police spokesman said.

Hanoi  - Police in Ho Chi Minh City have broken up an illegal marriage brokerage that matched Vietnamese women and South Korean men, Vietnamese press reported Wednesday.

Police Monday raided a house where a marriage broker was parading 31 Vietnamese women before two South Korean men and arrested three people, Huynh Van Khai, Nguyen Van Hoa and Do Thi Kim Van, on charges of organizing the presentation.

When the police appeared, the 31 women were jammed into a tiny 20-square-metre house that served as an office for the illegal marriage agency.

Singapore  - Singaporean police is investigating the case of 68-year old woman accused of poisoning her ailing husband with arsenic, the Straits Times reported Wednesday.

Doctors treating the husband in 2006 discovered that the 70-year-old had patchy skin on his arms, which was then diagnosed as an effect of arsenic poisoning.

Bangkok - Thai police arrested two Colombian nationals and have issued warrants for three more who allegedly formed a burglary gang that preyed on wealthy housing estates in and around Bangkok, media reports said Monday.

Police arrested Alvaro Gomez Pederos, 33, Adelmo Garcia Ardiia, 40, and Ardiia's Thai wife Walaiporn Khana, 25, as chief suspects in a string of burglaries, said The Nation newspaper.

They have also issued arrest warrants for Colombians Aerson Neo, Caolin Diyana and Thornet Anne.
