Ethnic violence erupts in Pakistan's financial hub, 27 killedIslamabad - At least 27 people were killed and around three dozen more injured in ethnic violence in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi, police and health officials said Thursday.

The clashes between activists of ethnic Urdu-speaking Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the minority-Pashtun population erupted Wednesday when gunmen shot dead two MQM supporters in the shanty-town neighbourhood of Khwaja Ajmair Nagri.

Hong Kong arrests third BitTorrent user for sharing movies online Hong Kong  - Customs officers in Hong Kong said Wednesday they arrested an internet user for distributing movies using BitTorrent technology, the third such arrest of its kind.

The jobless 38-year-old was arrested after investigators monitoring internet use allegedly caught him sharing two movies Monday night.

The suspect was later released on bail as customs officer prepare for what could be the third case against BitTorrent users in Hong Kong, which has set world precedents in file-sharing prosecutions.

The 12-year Interpol Red Corner Notice against the Italian businessman, has been removed from the "Interpol Notices" section of CBI''s website.

The agency''s decision is based on the legal advice of the Attorney General Milon Banerjee. On October 28, last year, Banerjee had described the RCN as " a continued embarrassment."

Spanish navy arrests pirates

Spanish navy arrests piratesMadrid  - The Spanish frigate Numancia intercepted and arrested nine alleged pirates suspected of attacking the Italian cruise ship MS Melody, media reports said.

A French and an Indian warship, as well as a helicopter and two surveillance planes also participated in the operation, which took place Sunday north of the Seychelles.

The alleged pirates were detected near the position were the attack on the MS Melody took place late Saturday. The attackers abandoned one of their two boats, which was found by the Indian warship Nirdeshak.
