Justin Vaughan, chief executive of New Zealand Cricket, said he and his Zimbabwe counterpart, Ozias Bvute, had agreed to put off the tour for 11 months after a meeting of the International Cricket Council in Johannesburg.

New Zealand Prime Minister John Key said last week that his government did not want the national team, the Black Caps, to go to Zimbabwe.

Addressing news conferences at separate venues, both Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Daniel Vettori said that neither of the two sides could be written off, as both had come off performing well against Sri Lanka and Australia recently. Both acknowledged that playing conditions could have a deciding impact on the matches to be played.

Cork urges top cricket playing nations to tour Pakistan

Pakistan Cricket BoardKarachi, Feb. 24 : While top teams of the world have refused to visit Pakistan citing security reasons, former England fast bowler Dominic Cork has said that if he has no problem touring the country, other teams should not hesitate in doing so.

Cork, who is in Pakistan as a television commentator, for the ongoing Sri Lanka Test series, said: "I enjoy being in Karachi. I said this before when I came for the one-day matches last month. I have a great time as a commentator, it is fantastic experience with top class hospitality and arrangements."
