Guwahati, Sept 23 : A two member team of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) visited Guwahati on Saturday to examine the venue and security arrangements made for the Pakistani team for the one-day-international match scheduled to be held in November this year.
The team comprised of PCB's technical officer Zakir Khan, who is also a former Test cricketer, and security expert Sohail Khan.
The duo, accompanied by Suru Nayak of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), also visited the hotel where Pakistani team will stay.
Patna, Sept. 22 : Cricket fans offered a special prayer here on Saturday for India’s success against Australia in the Twenty20 World Cup semi-final match to be played at Durban this evening.
Fans offered cricket bats and wickets to Lord Ganesha.
"Today, there is a match between India and Australia. Fans are gathered here during Ganesha festival to pray for the team's success because Lord Ganesha is the lord of prosperity. So, with his blessings the team will surely attain success," said Rakesh Kumar, a fan.
India has won the cricket match against England. The main attraction in the match was fastest half century by Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj scored a half century in just 12 balls. Yuvraj was in his best form in today’s match. He scored 6 sixers in just one over. This was the turning point of the match.
Indian cricket team hasn’t shown such a great performance since a very long time. The fans were really happy to see Team India in action. Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir also scored nicely.
Karachi, Sep 19 : A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official has said that one of the reasons behind the national team’s impressive performance at the Twenty20 World Cup is the absence of trouble-making pacer Shoaib Akhtar.
Though squad stunned by the circumstances surrounding Shoaib’s exit from the team, Pakistan players took little time to recover, the official said speaking on the condition of anonymity.
