Gang of robbers caught in the act
Acting on a tip-off, Rabale police arrested four robbers of a gang from MIDC, Mahape. The gang was attempting to rob a company situated at plot number A-541 in MIDC area. The arrested have been identified as Mohiddin alias Nate Niyaz Ahmed Shaikh (40), a resident of Mahape village, Hausa alias Mohammed Shaikh (24), a resident of Sadar village, Ashriddin alias Sugya alias Mohammed Shaikh (19), a resident of Bheemnagar in Rabale and Santosh alias Becha Shivram Kanojiya (19), a resident of sadar, confirmed an official from Rabale Police Station.
The thieves possessed a stolen motorbike, a chopper, blades and knives with them. Pratim Pandey and Vinod More, members of the gang and residents of Digha are absconding and the police have launched a manhunt to nab them.
"The accused are habitual robbers and have conducted many robberies in the area. The bike they used during the act was also stolen. Till now, two other cases of robberies, in which they were involved, have been detected and we are hopeful to detect more cases of robbery," PSI RD Bhosale from Rabale Police Station said. The accused have been arrested under sections 399 and 402 of the IPC and have been remanded to police custody till Saturday, confirmed Bhosale.
