Four tourists, pilot hurt in helicopter's emergency landing on Bali

IndonesiaBali Island, Indonesia - A helicopter carrying tourists made an emergency landing on the Indonesian island of Bali Wednesday, injuring all five people on board, officials said.

The Bell 206 operated by Air Bali with four American tourists and an Indonesian pilot on board came down in the Lebih beach area of the Gianyar district in the island's south-east, Bali police spokesman AS Reniban said.

Reniban denied reports that the helicopter crashed and said the five on board suffered minor injuries.

The four tourists chartered the helicopter for a two-and-a-half-hour trip from Candidasa in Bali's Karangasem district to the island's Ngurah Rai International Airport.

Ketut Parwa, chief of Bali's search and rescue agency, said an investigation would be carried out by the country's National Transportation Safety Committee to determine the cause of the accident. (dpa)
