Forbes launches Indian edition - country’s first foreign or business publication
Steve Forbes, Chairman and CEO of Forbes Media Llc and editor-in-chief of ‘Forbes,’ and Raghav Bahl, founder and editor of Network18, launched the Indian edition of ‘Forbes’ in Mumbai on Thursday, making it the country’s first foreign or business publication.
Forbes India would likely be the drama critic of Indian businesses, and will provide its readers with an entirely different viewpoint, helping them connect the dots, form patterns and perceive further than the palpable.
Elaborating on its role in the country, the magazine’s release mentioned that it can be expected to deliver sharp, in-depth and engaging stories, peering at the pertinent global and domestic issues all the way through an Indian prism.
Steve Forbes commented on the ‘timing’ of the Forbes India release, saying: “I doubt there's been a better time to launch Forbes India. In the midst of economic doom and gloom, India's story is one of resilience in adversity and optimism for the future.” Forbes also said that it was “excited” about having partnered with Network 18 for the venture.
Speaking on the occasion of the Forbes India launch, Bahl said that the magazine’s presence in India will serve as an “inflection point” for business coverage, redefining the awareness related to creation of wealth; the leading style that the business leaders adopt; and the conduct of the business on the whole!
