Five killed in shootout triggered by traffic dispute
Manila - Five people were killed in a shootout triggered by a traffic dispute in the Philippines, a police spokesman said Monday.
Chief Inspector Milagros Sanchez said the violence occurred late Sunday at the public market in Imus town in Cavite province, just south of Manila.
Sanchez said one person was also critically wounded in the firefight.
The hostilities erupted when Mahmod Sultan confronted Raul Bautista and his sons because their vehicle was blocking the road outside the market.
Sultan and his companions were delivering supplies to the market, while Bautista owned an ice plant.
Sanchez said Sultan and Bautista were killed on the spot, while two sons of Bautista and a companion of Sultan were pronounced dead on arrival in hospital. (dpa)
