Finnish gaming operator Veikkaus Oy announces expected opening date for new Casino Tampere
Announcing projected opening date for its new Casino Tampere, Finland’s state-owned gaming operator Veikkaus Oy has informed that it hopes to start welcoming guests to its latest land-based gaming facility in the southern city of Tampere from December of 2021.
The new Casino Tampere will come into existence within the Uros Live Arena, which is currently under construction, and will offer a range of gaming and entertainment options, including slot machines and table games. Moreover, the facility will offer special lounge areas for social gaming besides real-time mobile games. The planned facility is expected to employ nearly eighty people.
Veikkaus Oy has plans to formulate the look and feel of the planned gambling and entertainment facility in collaboration with a range of respected interior design and audio visual specialists. In addition, the state-owned operator has plans to make it compulsory for all local players to utilize a new obligatory registration system. Emerging media reports suggest that the aforementioned scheme will likely be premiered at the operator’s existing property casino Helsinki from next spring.
The new obligatory registration system has been designed to boost responsible gambling credentials by allowing the operator to better crack down on underage gambling. The system will also provide a punter with the ability to exclude him or her temporarily or permanently.
Sami Aiho, General Manager (GM) for the upcoming Casino Tampere, described the gaming facility as a would be ‘trailblazer’ in terms of responsible gaming by allowing patrons to better manage their gaming habits through the utilization of various innovative tools. The innovative tools will first be tested at the operator’s existing gaming facility, Casino Helsinki. Its General Manager Tiina Siltanen said she aimed the facility to be known as ‘a trendsetter’ in the casino market of Europe although foreign guests will not be forced to undergo compulsory registration scheme.
Speaking on the topic, Aiho added, “Most of the employees will be working within customer service at the casino’s different customer service points. Casino Tampere will get its traditional table games and casino slots and we are also planning to introduce new types of entertaining and social games.”
Going into raptures over the distinctive design of Casino Tampere, Aiho also disclosed that the interior of the upcoming Casino Tampere will reflect ‘Finnishness’ through the combination of wood & forest with digital bespoke experience surfaces.
