Paris  - The European Union has expressed its sympathy with the relatives of the victims of Saturday's massive bomb attack on the Marriot hotel in the capital Islamabad, which has killed at least 50 people.

A statement from the EU Presidency, currently held by France, said the EU will "more than ever stand side by side" with Pakistan in its struggle against terrorism. (dpa)
