Eduardo signs new deal with Arsenal
London, Nov. 19 : Croatian striker Eduardo has signed a new deal with Arsenal that ties him to the club until 2014.
Eduardo, bought from Dinamo Zagreb for 7.5 million dollars in July 2007, has agreed to a three-year extension of his contract, which was due to end in 18 months, reports The Sun.
Eduardo, 26, whose time in North London has been marred by injuries, said: "I am very pleased to have signed a new, long contract. I''m very happy and hope to stay at Arsenal for as long as I can.”
"This period is good for me. I feel strong in my body and ready to play 90 minutes every three days if needed. I went to Croatia last week and everybody was telling me Arsenal now play the best football in Europe. I agree with that. We feel we are strong this season and we''re all going to give everything to win trophies," he added.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger declared: "We''re delighted Eduardo has signed a new, long-term contract. He is a special player with huge talent and natural goal scoring ability. We have also seen in his comeback from injury that Eduardo is a human being full of courage and commitment.”
"We all look forward to enjoying his performances in an Arsenal shirt for a long time to come," he added. (ANI)
