Kanpur police and health department claimed to have busted drug racket with the arrest of Anil Kumar Sachan and seizing goods worth lakhs of rupees from his residence.

Police recovered fake drugs and cosmetics from some popular brands like Corex, Benadryl, Dabur Gulabari, Anne French, Digene, Escoric and Ancadil from Sachan’s house.

While addressing reporters, Dr. A Nagaich, Chief Medical Officer, said, “As per our information, Sachan had started manufacturing fake medicines at his Barra residence a few weeks ago.”

It should be noted that Ghaziabad police had recently busted a gang involved in the manufacturing of fake labels of leading medicine brands.

“The arrested gang members told the Ghaziabad police that the fake labels were supplied to Kanpur,” said Nagaich.

Police had charged Sachan under Drugs and Cosmetic Act.

Moreover, a case of forgery has also been pressed against Sachan.

However, Sachan’s partners in crime are still absconding.

It is believed that Sachan along with his partners used to manufacture and supply these fake drugs to drug dealers of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other neighbouring states.
