Delta to offer Wi-Fi connectivity on regional planes
Aviation firm, Delta is planning to offer Wi-Fi connectivity on its regional jets after it rolled out the service for customers in its long-haul services.
With the move, which was announced on 7 September, the airline will become first to offer WiFi in its regional flights. Delta said in a release that the first regional WiFi-equipped flight was a Bombardier CRJ200 between Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and White Plains, NY this week.
The service will be released on other Delta Connection jets by early next year. The airline already has 550 mainline aircraft offering Wi-Fi connectivity to the customers, the move to roll out the service on regional planes indicates the popularity of the service among customers.
Rivals including Virgin America, American Airlines and United Airlines have also invested in enabling their flight with Wi-Fi connectivity.
