Dell is going to launch smart phones in IndiaFollowing the likes of Nokia and Apple, etc. now even the multi IT giant Dell has planned to join the fast growing mobile handset market in the world, by launching its own range of smart phones in India.

Dell, however, has not revealed the specific details of their plan or the exact date of launch of the Smartphone or even the date when the models will be made available in the country.

Talks are that Dell has sought distributors with retailing purpose.

Thus, the world’s third largest PC maker will now enter the Indian market which is mostly dominated by low-cost handsets.

Reportedly, India had around 617.53 million mobile phone users by the end of May, and around 101.54 million handsets were sold in the Indian market in the year 2009.

That Dell would also join the industry of smartphones in the world was announced late last year. Thus, Dell has joined the league of Apple, HTC, Research in Motion (with BlackBerry), Nokia, Samsung and LG in making smartphones for the Indian market.
