Palakkad (Kerala), Jan 19: Defence Minister A. K. Antony has urged Pakistan to take action against the perpetrators of Mumbai attack.

"Our strategy is very clear, instead of promise and statements, they must act. Through actions only they can prove their sincerity," Antony told reporters on the sidelines of a function here on Sunday.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday urged Pakistan to fully disclose all facts about the attack in Mumbai last November and to act swiftly against militant groups on its soil.

India has sent evidence to Pakistan, which linked Pakistani militants to the attacks, and has asked for extradition of the suspects.

Earlier this month, Manmohan Singh accused Pakistan of acting irresponsibly, and said the Mumbai attacks must have had support from some of its official agencies.

Pakistan has rejected the accusation and said such charges jeopardized chances of cooperation infigthing terrorism.

On the Sri Lankan crisis, Antony said India preferred a political solution and had sent its Foreign Secretary to the island nation.

"India is trying to find out political solution to the issue. That is why our Foreign Secretary is in Sri Lanka. We are trying our best," he said.

Tamils staged a black flag protest during Antony''s visit to the district bordering Tamil Nadu.

"The Indian Government is still giving ammunition and military support to Sri Lanka and the killings of Tamils continues. All this is happening in the presence of Antony. We condemn this visit of Antony and for that we are staging a black flag protest," said Aruchamy, a protestor.

People of Tamil Nadu have been protesting against the ongoing conflict in Sri Lanka, as regional political groups pressured the Indian Government to stop the war. (ANI)
