Death of a San Diego lady on September 8 and latest hospitalization of an eighty-year old lady is under investigation as possible West Nile virus cases, the County Well being and Human Companies Company said on Friday.

The lady hospitalized is now recovering well at hospital. Each lady has been admitted to native hospitals in late August after experiencing signs of encephalitis, an irritation of the mind that may be brought on by viral or bacterial infection, reported officials.

Testing to substantiate West Nile virus in each case will likely be carried out by the California Division of Public Well being, they added.

As per experts, West Nile virus is carried through mosquitoes. The County Division of Environmental Well being Vector Management Program carried out inspections of the neighborhood from where the cases have been reported.

The inspection was carried out to examine for potential areas of mosquito breeding. Vector Management has also set traps in those areas and is sending precautionary notices to residents, alerting them that West Nile virus has been recognized in their neighborhood.

Vector Management is even offering residents data on how to search for the right way to get rid of mosquito breeding sources on their property and precautions they'll take to guard themselves. So far only one case of domestically acquired West Nile virus has been confirmed within the county in 2015.
