In an interview featured on the May 2015 issue of Women's Health, Cobie Smulders revealed that she battled ovarian cancer when she was 25 years old.

She opened up and said that she had tumors on both ovaries, and the cancer had spread into her lymph nodes and surrounding tissues.

She mentioned that in the next couple of years, she underwent many surgeries to remove the cancerous tissue in her body, which then left her with one third of an ovary.

Doctors, who treated Smulders, told her that she would never be able to get pregnant naturally. In fact Smulders has two children with her actor husband Taran Killam.

Presently at the age of 33, she admitted that she could never feel like she is cancer-free. She told the magazine, “Now that I'm five years out, I'm trying to think of it as a positive thing and what can I learn from it. And if I can create more awareness, I'll do it”.

Despite of fighting cancer in the past, Smulders has lived her life to the fullest. She was looking flawless and joyful on the cover of the magazine's latest issue that showed her posing topless in just short jeans.

Furthermore, the Avengers: Age of Ultron star also discussed many other topics during her in-depth and candid interview with the mag, including her piece of advice to her younger self.

The actress stated that according to her she was in such a rush to grow up. She said that even in the film industry, one always tries to get established, to get to the next level. She added that she should've just chilled out, gone back to college for four years and just hung out.
