Chinese vice premier en route to Japan for economic dialogue
Beijing - Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan left Beijing Saturday morning for Tokyo to attend the second high-level economic dialogue between the two countries, local media reported.
Wang will co-chair the June 7 dialogue with Japanese Foreign Minister Hirofumi Nakasone, the official Xinhua news agency reported, while senior officials from both countries are expected to attend.
The dialogue is to cover topics including energy conservation, environmental protection, finance, agriculture, trade and investment, intellectual property, information and communication, as well as disaster prevention and relief.
The first economic dialogue was held in Beijing in December 2007, after Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and then-Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe launched the mechanism in April 2007.(dpa)
