Imphal, Oct 17 : A Central team headed by Union Home Secretary Madukar Gupta will review the law and order situation here today in the backdrop of increasing violence.

The team comprises of Joint Secretary Home (Northeast) Naveen Verma, Joint Secretary (Border Management) G S Patnaik and Director of North-1 A K Goyal.

The team will also fly to the border town of Moreh where it will hold discussions with the officials on the proposed fencing of the Indo-Myanmar border and the construction of an integrated check post there.

The Central team will also hold talks with Governor S S Sidhu and Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh separately on the State's law and order situation.
The team will return to New Delhi on October 18. (ANI)
