Captaining Putin’s amphibious plane gave Berlusconi “extraordinary feeling of power”
London, Oct 24 : Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin came together yesterday for a macho outing.
On Friday, Berlusconi took a flight on an amphibious Russian aircraft used to fight forest fires, accompanied to the plane by Putin, reports The Telegraph.
Both clad in matching orange life-jackets, state television showed Berlusconi and Putin zooming out to the plane on a speedboat.
The jaunt was the final event during Berlusconi''s private visit to Saint Petersburg.
The duo clambered aboard the Beriev Be-200, and Berlusconi sat himself down in the captain''s chair.
According to the RIA Novosti news agency, Berlusconi described the experience as "an extraordinary feeling of power."
"This is the very same plane that flew to Italy and fought fires there in the past," Dmitry Peskov, Putin''s spokesman, said of the Be-200. (ANI)
