Bono reluctant to take up music piracy issue

Bono reluctant to take up music piracy issueLondon, Mar 2 : U2 frontman Bono has said that he doesn’t want to enter the debate on illegal music downloading because he already has his hands full with the campaigning of many issues.

For many years, the singer has been involved in charity campaigns and philanthropic activities, and has even set up a large number of projects for Africa, organising benefit concerts and meeting world leaders.

However, the Irish rocker is not inclined to take up the issue of illegal music downloads.

"There were huge tactical errors made by the music industry. It was for younger bands to take on the fight against illegal downloading but they were fooled into thinking it wasn''t hip,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

He added: “I wasn''t going to get involved because I''m on enough soap boxes as it is."

Bono''s constant campaigning has even taken a toll on U2.

The singer recently admitted that his bandmates feared that his side projects might eventually overshadow the group and end their music career. (ANI)
