The Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion (RIM) recently launched its popular flagship smart phone, BlackBerry Bold 9700 in India. This device runs on BlackBerry OS (operating system) 5.0 and 624 MHz processor. It includes a 3.2 megapixel camera, 2.44 inches display with 480 x 360 pixels resolution, full QWERTY keyboard, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity, 256MB internal storage, 16GB expandable memory. Priced at Rs31, 990, this comes only in black colour.

Blackberry’s exceptional user friendly interface not only provides an ease in performing numerous business functions but also its advent in technology gives an edge over the others. As the trade analysts say, it’s difficult to predict Indian market. This is a game where RIM’s loyalty, patience etc, would be tested against competition.

It’s a time trial where Smart devices of the existing era will be facing the veterans of the Gen X (Blackberry).Priced at par these devices would be governed on the basis of novelty leading to acceptance. Personally speaking I am fond of Apple, fascinated about Droid or Nexus One but I am obsessed with RIM. It’s worth a watch how many agree with my decision.
