Birla Corporation net profit rises 26.40% in fourth quarterBirla Corporation has recorded an increase of 26.40 per cent in net profits to Rs. 72.63 crore during the fourth quarter of the financial year 2012-2013.

The company had recorded a net profit of Rs. 57.46 crore during the fourth quarter of the financial year 2011-2012. The company said that its sales rose 2.42 per cent to Rs. 665.75 crore during the quarter from January to March, 2013 compared to Rs. 650.02 crore during the fourth quarter of the previous financial year 2011-2012.

As for the whole financial year 2012-2013, net profit increased 12.80 per cent to Rs. 269.82 crore in the compared to Rs. 239.21 crore during the financial year 2011-2012. Total sales rose 14.10 per cent to Rs. 2563.76 crore in the financial year till March, 2013 compared to Rs 2246.87 crore during the previous year till March, 2012. The M. P. Birla group company has reported a PAT for Rs. 270 crore during the financial year 2013 at against Rs. 239 crore in the financial year 2012.

The board of the company has recommended a final dividend of Rs 4.5 per share for shares with a a face value of Rs. 10 per shares.
