Bhatt’s ‘Jannat’ To Hit Indian Theatres By May 16

Ace Bollywood producer Mukesh Bhatt has decided to postpone the releaseEmraan Hashmi of his ambitious venture ‘Jannat’ by two weeks.

Initially Jannat was slated to hit the Indian theatres on May 2, a week after the Yashraj Films next big presentation ‘Tashan’ on April 25. But, now it will be released on May 16.

Mr. Bhatt said, “I learnt a bitter lesson during Awarapan. The film suffered because of its clash with two other films that opened simultaneously (Apne and Aap Kaa Surroor). So I never got the right theatres or the right show timings to exhibit my film.”

He also said that Yashraj Films adopts aggressive marketing plan for its every release, and they have already booked the most of cinema halls across India for ‘Tashan’.

And he added that there is no question that the movie will have a brilliant opening, and it may also have a good run for at least a few weeks.

So, this was the main reason due to which Mahesh decided to release ‘Jannat’ on May 16, a week after the release of Bhoothnath on May 9.

Emraan Hashmi, who earlier said ‘No’ to kiss scenes, after he got married, seems to have broken the promise this time and has enacted a few intimate sequences with leading lady Sonal Chauhan.

Mahesh said, “Emraan is a professional. He may've resolved against doing intimate scenes in his movies, but if the role demands it, he would never shirk away from his responsibilities. At the same time, he would never do anything just for the heck of it.”

“Since we're talking of Emraan, I'd like to say that he has outdone himself in Jannat. Post Jannat, he will be in an altogether different league—the top bracket.”

‘Jannat’ tells a love story of a guy who wants to keep his girl happy in whatever way. So he adopts illegal means to earn money. He gets involved in betting and match-fixing racket in cricket, only to end up in a mess he can’t get out of. The film is directed by Kunal Deshmukh.

In the meantime, the Bhatt also made announcement about another ambitious venture, Raaz—The Mystery Continues.

"Please don't call it Raaz 2. I'd like to clarify I am not remaking Raaz, nor is it a sequel to the film. There's nothing similar to the previous film except the word 'Raaz'. My film is an altogether fresh concept," the producer said.
