Bharat Forge net up; wins big contract

Bharat-ForgeThings are going very smoothly and good for the largest maker of forgings in India, Bharat Forge.

In its results for the fourth quarter, the company said that the net of the company has gone up, although marginally. As against Rs. 61 crore during last year it managed to earn a net profit of Rs. 61.2 crore.

The good news is that the revenue of Bharat Forge was up by 92 per cent and closed at Rs. 562.3 crore as against Rs. 292.6 crore in the previous period. The operating margins were went up from 15 per cent and reached 25 per cent.

Bharat Forge has cited an increase in demand as the reason for this increase and expects that 2010 will bring even more cheers.

If profit before exceptional item is considered, then it stood at Rs. 82 crore as against a loss of Rs. 2.4 crore. Exceptional items included the number was at a profit of Rs. 98 crore.

Meanwhile, it won a contract for designing and commissioning of a 450 MW independent power projects.

It said in a statement that the project will be executed by a subsidiary of the firm.
