Bangladeshi nationals arrested in New Delhi without valid documents

New DelhiNew Delhi, Sept 22 : Thirty-six Bangladeshi nationals, including women and children were arrested in New Delhi on Monday for staying without valid documents.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police East Delhi, Ajay Choudhury the immigrants were taken into custody from Kalyanpuri area in east Delhi during a random search operation.

“These arrested Bangladeshi nationals have been residing in this area illegally. Illegal immigrants from Bangladesh normally come to Delhi especially east Delhi and take up jobs like rag picking, servants and even work in warehouses. We have alerted the residents of East Delhi and we would continue to make such random searches in order to nab these illegal immigrants,” said Choudhury.

Among the arrested, ten are women and 11 are children.

Police personnel have been carrying out random search operations in Delhi after serial blasts that targeted the national capital on September 13.

At least five bombs exploded in quick succession in crowded markets and streets in the heart of country’s capital, killing at least 23 people and injuring many. (ANI)
