Hochfilzen, Austria  - Austria clinched the men's 4x7.5km biathlon World Cup relay before a home crowd at Hochfilzen on Sunday.

The quartet of Daniel Mesotitsch, Fritz Pinter, Julian Eberhard and Christoph Sumann posted 1 hour 21 minutes 23.1 seconds for only the third World Cup win and the first for seven years for an Austrian men's relay team.

Sweden finished second, 1 minute 11.2 seconds behind, with the French team third, another 4.1 seconds back.

A women's 4x6km World Cup relay was scheduled for later. (dpa)
