Australia defeats England by 4 wickets
Australian team has taken 5-0 lead in the Nat West series after defeating England by 4 wickets in the fifth ODI match at the Trent Bridge on Tuesday. Australian skipper R Ponting smashed a brilliant century to lead Australia to another win in the series.
England skipper won the toss and elected to bat first. English team returned to pavilion for 299 runs on the board in 50 overs. E Morgan was top scorer for England, who scored 58 runs.
M Johnson, N Hauritz and S Watson took two wickets each for Australia. P Siddle and N Bracken also chipped in with one wicket each.
Ponting scored 126 runs in just 109 balls to help Australia to chase target of 300 in 48.2 overs with four wickets to spare. M Clarke also contributed 56 runs with the bat. Ponting was declared man of the match.
