Apple wins court injection against Samsung in Germany
Apple has won injunction against South Korean giant, Samsung Electronics that restricted the company from showing its new latest tablet computer at IFA Electronics Show in Berlin Germany.
The American giant accuses Samsung of copying its phone smartphone and iPad tablet computer to create its Galaxy series of smartphones and tablets. Samsung is already facing restrictions on launch in the Australian market and its troubles seem to be increasing in European markets as well.
The Seoul based company, on its part, has counter sued Apple for infringing upon its patent rights in its products. Samsung devices are based on Apple’s rival, Google’s Android system and some believe that Apple legal battle against Samsung and other manufacturers is actually targeted against Android itself.
Samsung was forced to pull away its newly launched Galaxy Tab 7.7 out of the IFA following the new court ruling. According to a spokesperson for Samsung, a Dusseldorf court on has granted Apple’s request to ban sales and marketing of the product on September 2.
James Chung said, “Samsung respects the court’s decision,” adding that the company believes it “severely limits consumer choice in Germany.” Samsung will pursue all available options, including legal action, to defend its intellectual property rights.
