Technology giant, Apple has the gold master version of the OS X Lion to Mac developers indicating that the final version will be released to the users soon.

According to some reports citing sources, the new version could be released either on July 6 or on July 14. The gold master version is usually the final draft of the product to be released by Apple.

The new Mac OS X 10.7 will be sold for $29.99 and will be available for purchase through Apple’s Mac App Store only. As the company will not have to write it onto DVDs, pack in boxes or ship to retail stores, it could be released virtually anytime.

Apple has only said that it will release Lion this month.
