Apple records $57.6 billion revenues in the previous year

AppleTechnology giant, Apple has said that it has recorded revenue of $57.6 billion during the previous year as it sold a high number of iPhones around the world.

The company said that it sold 51 million iPhones during the year and launched a host of new editions of the iPhone and iPads. The company said that it recorded first quarter profits of $13.1 billion around the world. The higher profits revived the company's falling revenues and record revenue figures.

This is the first quarter that took into account the sales of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c and included the marking the launch of the iPad Air and iPad mini. The revenues received a boost from 51 million iPhones in the period. However, the $13.1 billion net profit was at the same level than the same quarter of the previous year. Apple achieved record quarterly revenue of $57.6 billion compared to $54.5 billion in the same quarter in 2012.

Apple said that international sales accounted for 63 per cent of the quarter's revenue. The 51 million iPhones sold worldwide compared to 47.8 million units sold during the same period of the previous year.
