Apple to launch new iPhone in China on the same day as the US

Apple to launch new iPhone in China on the same day as the USTechnology giant, Apple has indicated that it will launch the newest version of its iPhone smartphone in China on the same as it is launched in the American market.

Apple generally launches its devices first in its home market with some developed markets and expands to the emerging markets. This takes months before the new devices reach customers in the developing nations such as India and China. However, the company has now decided to launch the device in China on the same day as it will be launched in the US, Japan and Europe for the first time.

The iPhone 5s and lower-cost 5c will go on sale tomorrow in Apple's 11 stores in China and Hong Kong as the company aims to expand its market share in the Chinese telecom market. Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook is aiming to get a boost from customers in China as the company faces diminished technological advantage over Samsung Electronics and a host of low cost Android based devices. Apple also does not have an existing distribution contract with China Mobile, which is the biggest carrier in the country.
