The Indian Automobiles industry will soon touch a new high with major players gearing up to make their place in the market of the middle and upper middle class Indians. 

As if endorsing such a thought the Vice-President (marketing) Honda Siel Cars India , the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese Car Makers 'Honda' Mr. Jneswar Sen said "We are designing a small car which will be launched a few years down the line". 

The company is doing very well with its other models in India i.e. Honda City, Honda Civic and Honda Accord. The new Honda car will have a 1200 cc engine capacity and will be called 'Jazz', the price however was not revealed. The premium hatchback model of Jazz shall be launched in mid 2009.

Further more it was also stated by Sen that the company was in the process of establishing its second Production Unit in Rajasthan with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore which will start functioning by end of 2009.Initially the plant will produce some 60,000 units per annum and will later be developed to produce over two lakh units. 

There is plan to launch another small car in India in three years time, which is being developed by research team in Japan. After Honda one has to wait and watch who is next in the line for designing small cars.
