Amrita, First Bengali Movie Of Smriti To Be Released
Tapan Saha, the director, is soon going to release a woman-centric movie entitled Amrita.
Sampoorna Entertainment World, the director's own company, would be the banner for the movie. The film basically showcases the predicament of a gentle, truthful, and righteous woman, who is put down by her own family members.
There was a press conference held at the Tolly Club, where the cast and crew came together and talked about their original project. The film has Bengali movie legend Supriya Devi along with veterans like Victor Banerjee, Labony Sarkar and others. The movie also features Biswajit Chakraborty and funny man Kanchan Mullick. Amrita also features fresh faces like Mainak Banerjee and Raj Banerjee.
Amrita stands out from its peers for another reason; it features the much acclaimed Indian soap queen Smriti Zubin Irani who captured fame through her portrayal of Tulsi in the fanatically popular `Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' serial. She is the protagonist and this is her first Bengali movie.
Tapan Saha is also handling the script of the film that is supposed to have an August release.
