Akhtar’s absence did not affect Pakistan: AlamPakistan coach Intikhab Alam said that the absence of fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar did not affect the performance of Pakistan team as Pakistan has won the ICC T20 World Cup title by defeating Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the final at the Lords, on Sunday.

Alam said that he did not think that Akhtar's absence was felt on the tour as all the Pakistan bowlers bowled superbly in the tournament.

Alam specially pointed towards Umar Gul and new sensation Mohammad Aamir and praised their bowling performances in the ICC T20 World Cup.

This was Pakistan's first major title after 1992 World Cup which Pakistan team won under the captainship of Imran Khan.

Alam also said that all the players were eagerly waiting for the final match and their team was confident to win final match against any team on the world.
