Akhtar has a disruptive influence on Pak team: Smith
Karachi, Oct 8 : South African skipper Graeme Smith has said that Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar might be a match winner, but he also had a disruptive influence on the team.
”Certainly, he is a player who has won Test matches for them as a bowler, but certainly we have seen he has been a disruptive influence for them,” Smith said ahead of the second Test match.
He said this in reply to a query as to whether Shoaib’s absence was influencing their ongoing Test series against Pakistan, The News reported.
Smith, however, added that his “focus is on what we have to do best to win matches.”
Shoaib is currently facing a disciplinary hearing after being sent back home from South Africa last month before beginning of the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup for reportedly hitting teammate Mohammad Asif with a bat. (ANI)
