Airlines give new orders to RapiscanIt has been reported that OSI Systems has received new orders for its cargo inspection systems to support the implementation of a U. S. Transportation Security Administration mandate.

Its Rapiscan Systems unit received the new delivery orders from two undisclosed international airline companies. Rapiscan's screening technologies are listed on the Transportation Security Administration's Air Cargo Qualified Technology List, California's OSI Systems has said.

OSI Systems Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Deepak Chopra said in a statement, "With over 15 years of experience serving the aviation market, we believe we offer air cargo companies the broadest range of Transportation Security Administration-approved screening systems and the deepest expertise in the industry."

Rapiscan's X-ray screening solutions were selected to support the airlines meet the Transportation Security Administration's Certified Cargo Screening Program.

It has been reported that under the TSA program all cargo being flown on passenger aircraft must be scanned for explosives and other illicit materials. (With Inputs from Agencies)
