Airlines announce special offers for monsoon season
In a bid to woo passengers, the recession-hit aviation industry has started announcing special offers, introducing 'Monsoon magic fares' to visit selected destinations in the country. Most of the airlines, despite tight financial health, have come up with special fares in monsoon season for which air travel demand remains low in the country.
The state-owned Air India has announced special fares up to September 15, applicable for tickets purchased till July 3. These tickets include taxes and surcharges. However, fares do not include airport development fee.
Air India's all-inclusive fare on the Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Kolkata route will be just Rs 2,479; while fare for the Delhi-Chennai and Delhi-Goa route will be Rs 2,729. The ticket rates have been further slashed on shorter distance routes, like Chennai-Madurai and Delhi-Gwalior.
Meanwhile, Jet Airways is also offering attractive fares of Rs 2,500 and Rs 2,250 for flights between Mumbai- Kochi and Mumbai-Hyderabad. However, the passengers are required to pay taxes and surcharges applicable in addition to ticket costs.
Low-cost carriers such as SpiceJet, Jetlite, IndiGo and Jet Airways Konnect have also announced special offers on various domestic routes.
