American automobile giant General Motors’ 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup in 3X specification will deliver a considerably longer range on a full charge, thanks to improvement in EV technology implemented by GM. The all-electric 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup 3X gets more range both for the standard trim level and the off-road-oriented variant that comes as optional.

The longer range is due to the large 24-module battery pack that is capable of storing more power. The standard version of the EV runs on 22-inch wheels and 35-inch All-Terrain tires. According to the manufacturer’s claims, the upcoming EV will deliver a range of up to 381 miles (roughly 613 km) between two charges, up from the existing model’s range of 355 miles (roughly 571 km). The optional Extreme Off-Road variant features 18-inch wheels and 35-inch Mud-Terrain tires. While its range of 359 miles (roughly 578 km) with the 24-module battery is down from that of the standard version, it is still a 30-mile improvement over the existing model.

However, it must be kept in mind that the aforementioned driving range figures are just GMC estimates. It is quite possible that the EPA ratings might be somewhat different.

When it comes to acceleration, the EV takes just 3 seconds to sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour (mph). However, it also depends on the type of the battery fitted to the electric pickup truck. While the bigger pack enables it the aforementioned sprinting in 3 seconds, the smaller pack does the same in 3.5 seconds.

GMC HUMMER EV Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser said that the company was excited to keep on improving the range of the HUMMER EV to allow customers to enjoy longer adventures than ever before.

The list of other notable goodies includes the four additional underbody cameras, e-locker in the front & virtual locking diffs at the rear, heavy-duty ball-spline half-shafts, extra underbody protection in the form of five skid plates, and two underbody shields to guard the battery & drive units.
