According to the report Police in National City, Calif., allege a 13-year-old mother was stabbed in the neck by her 14-year-old boyfriend, the father of her child.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reported on Wednesday that authorities were looking for the boyfriend, who allegedly stabbed the 13-year-old with a kitchen knife.

The two were said to be arguing over jealousy issues when the alleged attack occurred.

National City police Sgt. Greg Seward said that police were dispatched at 12:35 a. m. PDT on Wednesday to the home of the boy's parents.

The newspaper further said that the girl was taken to Rady Children's Hospital. She is expected to recover.

18-month-old daughter of the girl is being taken care of by relatives. (With inputs from Agencies)
