Yet another technical glitch forces AI’s Dreamliner to make priority landing
Boeing's persistent Dreamliner woes continues as yet another technical glitch in a Dreamliner forced a flight to make a priority landing at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Tuesday.
An Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner, operating on the London to Delhi route, made a priority landing after pilots found some warning signals, indicating a problem with the plane's braking-system.
Confirming the incident, an Air India official said, "The flight AI 116 sought priority landing yesterday around 2.30 AM after pilots found some warning lights blipping as they were approaching New Delhi."
The official also confirmed that 184 passengers and crew members were onboard the flight.
This was the second Dreamliner incident that raised concerns safety concerns in the last couple of days. Earlier on Monday, Air India's Dreamliner 787 developed cracks in its windshield when it was on its way to Melbourne. The crack developed at an altitude of around 41,000 feet, triggering concerns over safety of nearly 100 passengers and crew members.
Seattle, United States-based Boeing's Dreamliner 787 jets have been suffering technical problems ever since their launch. At the beginning of this year, two incidents of battery fires in Dreamliners owned by Japanese airlines forced the global fleet of the Dreamliners to ground.
