Wipro Infotech bags 10-year IT contract from MIAL
Wipro Infotech has bagged a 10-year contract from Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) for providing IT services for the airport operator's new integrated terminal T2.
Wipro Infotech, the India & Middle East IT business unit of Wipro, will be responsible for complete managed IT services for the new terminal for ten years, starting from April 1 this year.
Bangalore-based Wipro's Senior Vice President Anand Sankaran said that they were very excited that the strategic partnership deal.
Speaking on the topic, Sankaran, said, "Wipro will leverage its global expertise and strong understanding of the business domain, to deliver a best-in-class experience to MIAL's stakeholders including customers, employees and airlines."
MIAL Chief Executive Rajeev Jain said that IT would play the role of a crucial business driver to fulfill their vision of making T2 and the whole airport a world-class showcase.
Upon its completion, T2 will be a four-level integrated terminal spread across an area of 4.39 lakh square feet. It will handle an estimated forty million passengers per year.
Shares in Wipro gained nearly 1 per cent to close at Rs 402.90 a share on National Stock Exchange (NSE).
