Visiting Indian Origin Parliamentarians meet Pranab Mukherjee
New Delhi, Oct 26 : A group of sixteen Indian Origin Parliamentarians met External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee here today
Indian origin parliamentarians from the US, the UK and Europe are in India as a part of an intensive programme organised by the Public Diplomacy Division of the Ministry of External Affairs.
It envisages providing them with comprehensive presentations on key domestic and foreign policy issues in India.
The lawmakers arrived in India on October 23 and since then they have attended a series of seminars and meetings in New Delhi.
Through these programmes, the External Affairs Ministry expects to provide international lawmakers with comprehensive information on the socio-economic, strategic, regional and multilateral issues that engage and confront India.
The programme is aimed at enabling the MPs to influence the global debate on the country's "legitimate concerns" in the world.
The lawmakers will get a chance to know more about the opportunities and challenges that are confronting India. (ANI)
