Virgin hints readiness to invest in Indian aviation firmsUK's Virgin Group, which owns a series of firms including aviation major Virgin Atlantic, has indicated that it is open to investing in India based airlines.

British billionaire Sir Richard Branson-led Virgin is on the look for any new opportunity that may appear in the Indian market. Sir Branson is in India to launch new flights connecting India to the UK and India to the US.

"Now foreign companies have been allowed to pick up 49% so we are keeping our eyes open. It's a brave battle going on in the Indian aviation space now. Everybody is bleeding. There will be a right time and we will watch," Branson said. He was speaking at a pre-launch event at the Taj ManSingh hotel at New Delhi.

Branson will hold an official press event in Mumbai to launch new services from the country. The airline had withdrawn services from Mumbai in 2009 due to economic slowdown and was even considering cancelling service from Delhi.

Virgin Atlantic will now resume Mumbai London flight and has also started new flight from London to New York to help passengers from Indian flights to get on to the US. He said that the airline did not have the right time slots at the airport in London earlier and it is not offering services as it has secured right slots to offer services to passengers.
