In a Monday confirmation that HTC One handset is arriving on the Verizon Wireless, a spokesperson for the carrier said in a brief statement on Monday that Verizon will start selling the handset this summer.

As of now, Verizon is only carrier which does not offer the late February-launched HTC One, which is one of the most popular smartphones of the spring, boasting exceptional antenna reception largely because of its aluminum body.

However, while confirming that the Verizon version of HTC One will hit the markets in the coming months, the spokesperson did not divulge any details about the exact date of the launch of the handset on Verizon and the expected cost of the device to be sold by the carrier.

Though HTC had confirmed the launch of its One handset - which will likely give a notable boost to the sagging handset manufacturer - on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile soon after releasing the handset in late February, the Verizon version of the handset was not released at that time. It was speculated that either Verizon will not sell HTC One at all or it will get its own customized version of the device.

The delay in HTC One handset's arrival on Verizon is probably a result of the fact that the handset uses the AWS spectrum. Verizon is generally late on device launches when it rolls out new networks and has to test devices.
