US clears new flying car

US clears new flying carAuthorities in the United states have given clearance to a flying car called, Terrafugia Transition and could soon be seen flying over traffic in the country.

The Terrafugia, is like a conventional car and has a top speed of 65mph with consumption of 35mpg. The car can fly at 115mph and consumes five gallons of fuel an hour. After unfolding its wings, the car has a span of 28 feet and six inches.

The two-seat car-plane is made of carbon-fibre and has attracted some attention in the country and abroad. The user can fold its wings back in just 15 seconds, with power then routed to the rear wheels.

The car will be available to those with a light-aircraft license and requires just 20 hours of training.
